Simply, scoop it out of the bowl and transfer it into an airtight container.Īdd the lid, and keep it in the refrigerator until you’re ready to eat it. You can store leftover pasta salad for up to five days. Since this pasta salad has mayonnaise in it, you’ll want to store this pasta salad in the refrigerator. It is so good and truly makes this macaroni salad amazing. You will love this Macaroni Salad dressing. Salt and pepper to taste and then enjoy! How to store Pasta Salad. Cover bowl with plastic wrap and chill at least 30 minutes to 1 hour before serving. Pour the mixture over the pasta and toss until everything is well coated. In a small mixing bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, apple cider vinegar, dill, sugar, Dijon mustard, salt, and pepper. In a large bowl, toss together cooked pasta with the cubed cheese, onion, celery, bell pepper, and peas.Immediately rinse under cold water and drain so it isn’t sticky and prevents it from over cooking. You want the pasta to still be firm so cook until al dente. You can cook in salted water for more flavor. Boil macaroni according to package instructions. It tends to be more creamier than other types of mayonnaise.Īlso, use a full fat instead of a reduced fat option. I recommend that you use a whole egg creamy mayonnaise for this recipe. You can also use mustard sugar and black pepper instead of the vinegar. Whatever you choose, it is the perfect Summer side dish. Sweet pickle is also in many traditional Southern style pasta salads. I also like green pepper or red bell pepper. Hard boiled eggs are also good in the salad and add protein. This simple salad is just as tasty with only a few ingredients or load it up with veggies like carrots, pickles, sweet pickle relish, if you prefer. This recipe calls for onion, green pepper, green peas and more. Classic Macaroni Salad uses elbow macaroni but you can use what you prefer or have on hand. You can mix it up with pepper jack or other cheeses though for something different. ![]() Cheddar cheese cubed is what is traditionally in this salad. You can easily add or omit the ingredients you do not like.Ī very simple version is just tomato and cheese with the mayo or Italian dressing. Traditional Southern macaroni salad has mayonnaise, cheese, vinegar and a few veggies. You might also like the plastic bowls with lids for outdoor parties and such. I love to serve this salad in a pretty glass bowl. ![]() ![]() Flat Rate Pricingįlat rate credit card processing is not meant to be competitive it’s meant to be easy to understand. If the processor doesn’t set its rate high enough, it will lose money – something that processing companies are not in the habit of doing. Instead, they are aggregators that use one merchant account to process transactions for thousands of businesses.Īs I’ll explain in greater detail below, this type of flat rate pricing is inherently uncompetitive because an aggregator has to ensure its flat rate is high enough to cover all possible base costs associated with interchange and assessments as well as its markup, and base costs vary greatly. The difference between interchange and its flat rate is Square’s markup.Ĭompanies that offer this type of pricing are not actually “true” processors. The interchange rate assigned to an individual credit card transaction varies from 0.05% to 3.17% depending on several variables such as card type, card brand, processing method, settlement time, and more.Ī processor that offers its clients flat rate credit card processing still has to pay interchange and assessments it just does so behind the scenes without its clients knowing.įor example, Square famously charged its customers a flat rate of 2.75% for swiped and 3.50% for keyed transactions that only cost it about 1.40% and 1.95% on average. Assessments remain fairly consistent across different types of transactions, but interchange rates fluctuate over about 280 different categories. Interchange fees and assessments are fixed costs that remain the same regardless of which credit card processing company a business uses. And it pays a fee to a credit card processor as a markup. It pays a fee to the card brand (Visa, Mastercard, or Discover) whose logo is on the customer’s card, called an assessment. It pays a fee to the bank that issued the customer’s card, called an interchange fee. The fundamentals of credit card processing make it virtually impossible for a processor to charge a competitive flat rate and remain profitable.Įach time a business processes a credit card transaction, it is actually paying three separate fees. Read about Subscription Flat Rate Pricing. Note that this is different than subscription flat rate pricing, where the costs of interchange are still visible to the business. Some flat rate models also include a per-transaction fee, often in the range of 10 – 30 cents per transaction. Common flat rates are currently around 2.75% – 2.9% for swiped transactions. The most prevalent version of flat rate processing is where a company charges its clients based on a fixed percentage of volume. Flat Rate Pricingįlat rate is an increasingly popular pricing model for credit card processing. If you’re considering a flat rate credit card processing company, here’s what you need to know. ![]() ![]() ![]() This gummy multivitamin is formulated with key nutrients to help fill nutrition gaps in order to support growth and development. In an area where the modern style of architecture is dominant, Delaware Building is among the few buildings that have managed to maintain its old style. ![]() The Delaware Building is among Chicago's earliest skyscrapers built in 1872 located in the city's central business district. The city of Chicago continued to build new skyscrapers in its existing style whereas New York moved on to tower designs. Due to the development of engineering techniques, it was easier for the construction of even taller buildings. During the 20th century, a new class of skyscrapers was being developed especially because of the continued demand for new office spaces. However, the construction of new skyscrapers more than 150 feet high within the city was banned in 1892 leaving New York City to develop taller buildings. The skyscrapers were often referred as the products of the Chicago school of architecture. Skyscrapers in Chicago were mainly concentrated in the financial district. The city of Chicago paved the way for the establishment of skyscraper designs many of which were built between the late 1880s and early 1890s. ![]() The Oldest Skyscrapers In Chicago Early Skyscrapers In Chicago By 1888 the numbers of tall establishments started growing rapidly, and they were named skyscrapers. Home Insurance Building was the first skyscraper built in Chicago, Illinois measuring about 138 feet tall it was officially opened in 1884. Such inventions made it commercially and technically possible for the construction of skyscrapers. Another factor that highly encouraged the growth of early skyscrapers was the advancement of technology with new inventions such as electric lighting and elevator. Traditionally, cities in the US comprised of low-rise establishments, but post-civil war economic growth prompted the use of urban land which in turn encouraged the establishment of skyscrapers from as early as the 1870s. The electric elevator seems to have been invented in the 1880's.Between 18, American cities like Chicago and New York began the construction of tall commercial buildings making them the earliest skyscrapers. Interestingly enough, though, the Bessemer process was patented in the 1850's, along with Elisha Otis' patented elevator safety system. In some ways, the story of skyscrapers is the story of America and the developing world during the industrial revolution (and the Gilded Age), right down to the class struggle between the fat cats who owned the building and the workers who actually built them. When US Steel became cheap enough, realtors and financiers could finally afford to construct these monoliths, which was economically attractive in an era that saw America triple its urban population. Skyscrapers are built so that they can sway with the breeze, rather than simply stand up to it. Steel is very strong, too, but it has the ability to bend a little under pressure, rather than snap. Iron is durable and strong, but very rigid, so when there is too much pressure in a certain area of an Iron bar (or sword), it will snap and break. Skyscrapers were made feasible because of the Andrew Carnegie's development of the Bessemer process, which allowed him a much more cost-effect method of refining iron into steel. When the building was completed in 1885 the other buildings had not been constructed yet.įord's Model T was produced between 19, so this picture could not have been from 1885. This picture must have been taken closer to its demolition, rather than its construction. ![]() ![]() All 3 of these beautiful Formentera tiles are perfect for creating a classic, timeless, clean looking kitchen interior.
